چکیده
Background: Different bracing systems of steel Eccentric Braces (EBs) and steel-concrete Buckling-Restrained (BRBs) can be used in frames order to make the stronger resisting lateral loads. These with EBs or BRBs are generally called Eccentrically Braced Frames (EBFs) (BRBFs), respectively. Objective: This study aims investigate having moment link. Methods: The EBFs BRBFs nonlinearly analysed employing finite element software ABAQUS. Experimental tests EBF BRB utilised for validation their modelling. modelling is validated by comparing results experimental results. Conclusion: It concluded that hierarchy displacements BRBF, link, related because directly proportional peak ground accelerations records, there same terms accelerations. Cyclic Testing of Braces Laterally Restrained by Steel Studs
This paper experimentally investigates the cyclic inelastic performance of concentrically braced frames with and without cold formed steel stud ~CFSS! infills designed to laterally restrain braces and delay their buckling. Specimens have either diagonal tube or solid bar braces with and without CFSS and U brackets providing out-of-plane and in-plane buckling restraint. Behavioral characteristic...
متن کاملComparison of Progressive Collapse Capacity of Steel Moment Resisting Frames and Dual Systems with Buckling Retrained Braces
Progressive collapse is a condition where local failure of a primary structural component leads to the collapse of neighboring members and the whole structure, consequently. In this paper, the progressive collapse potential of seismically designed steel dual systems with buckling restrained braces is investigated using the alternate path method, and their performances are compared with those of...
متن کاملCost Evaluation of Columns Arrangements in Special Steel Moment Resisting Frames with Special Chevron Braces
Building structures are subject to displacement under the influence of forces resulting from earthquake. The most common method of controlling such displacements in steel structures, which are usually of lateral type, is the use of braces. Depending on designing requirements and feasibility, braces are available in various forms. Configuration of bracing systems is generally of concentric or ec...
متن کاملPresentation of Empirical Relation for the Fundamental Period of Irregular Steel Frames with EBF Steel Braces
Developments in the field of Structure and Earthquake Engineering and also consequences of earthquakes have been led to develop some continually changes and improvement of seismic regulations around the world. In regards to seismicity of Iran, it is necessary and also possible to review and edit the Seismic Regulations of Iran and compare it with the other countries; so it seems that a comparat...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation on Seismic Behavior of Steel Truss-RC Column Hybrid Structure with Steel Diagonal Braces
This paper aims to provide an experimental support on seismic performance evaluation of the steel braced truss-RC (reinforced concrete) column hybrid structure, which could be applied as the air-cooled supporting structural system in large-capacity thermal power plants located in strong earthquake prone regions. A series of pseudo-dynamic tests (PDTs) and quasi-static tests (QSTs) were performe...
